Thursday Sept. 26 from 6:00-8:00pm at Atmalogy, 2320 West End Ave. Nashville, TN in the Inspire room.
A free presentation on natural building: Building a Healthy Future: Homes of Earth and Straw
At Ecoville Architechs we believe our planet is sacred and the actions we take matter. We promote healthy activities so our children are assured a vibrant healthy planet. We believe in using locally-sourced, natural materials to build the shelters that protect and comfort us. In this way our homes become, not only an extension of ourselves, but also of the world around us, connecting us to something larger than ourselves.
We want to give you an opportunity to experience the joy that building can be. We’ll look at natural building historically and discover the exciting things being done today that inspire people to say their “home feels like a hug”. We’ll show how homes can be comfortable, energy efficient, easy to maintain and benefit the environment. How they can feed our souls and nurture the earth. By using natural materials we get closer to ourselves: our indigenous selves, our ancestral selves, who remember how to build with the materials of the earth.
We are passionate about the subject of natural building, and we think you’ll find that passion is contagious when you hear the stories of natural building through the ages, how it has evolved and the wondrous things being done by everyday people all over the world. I hope you will join us.
Atmalogy, which sits between Chili’s and Papa Johns, has a coffeeshop and cafe with smoothies and green drinks open until 7. Come a few minutes early and get yourself some refreshment.
